Hello 50 Degrees North here…
We hope all is well with you and that you are ok in these unusual and testing times? We wanted to send you an update relating to COVID-19 and how we are working as of 26th March 2020.
Firstly, we are open and we’re working hard to ensure all projects and meetings continue as normal. We’ve decided to close our studio in Richmond and our whole team are now working from home. We wouldn’t call it ‘business as usual’, but we have prepared for remote working and the 50 Degrees North team are now settled in our virtual studio Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm.
You can continue to contact us via our usual phone number (020 8744 2337) and email addresses. We are now carrying out all meetings via Zoom or Skype.
Please know we’re doing everything we can to progress projects as planned, and we’ll keep this page updated with the latest information.
Q. Are you still open for business?
A. Yes! We’ve made the decision to close our studio in Richmond following Government advice, however, we are continuing to provide almost all of our architectural services via our virtual studio.
We are fully set up for remote working and the 50 Degrees North team are now working from home. The 7 of us continue to meet and liaise via Zoom and we have full access to our files and project management system.
Q. Can you still provide the full range of architectural services?
A. We continue to offer almost all of our architectural services to existing and potential clients.
In fact, many of our clients are based overseas or far from our Richmond studio. We are currently working on projects for clients based in the Far East, Europe, Scotland and the South Coast so we are already well used to using a range of online tools to communicate and manage project delivery.
We are always ready to meet clients to discuss ideas and define the brief, explain our services, develop ideas, prepare drawings and progress designs and drawing packages from our desktops using our virtual studio set up.
So, in short, projects can proceed almost as usual right now and be set up to start on site when things return to normal. Please be reassured the pandemic isn’t affecting our ability to be great architects and work on your project.
Q. Can I still meet with you to discuss my project?
A. Yes, you can still call to book an appointment with an architect. This meeting will be booked and carried out on Zoom or Skype as opposed to face-to-face in the Studio. We can use screen sharing to show presentations and discuss plans and drawings. You might even like to give us a ‘virtual tour’ of your property using FaceTime!
Of course, this is a changing picture, we will keep you informed should things change. As architects we are trained to stay calm, be helpful, kind and flexible – This is our approach at 50 Degrees North and a virus isn’t going to change that!
